|JONATHAN JONES||Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach|
|Coach Jones started his coaching career in 2008 and joined the Vandegrift Viper coaching staff in 2012 as the Boys JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant. In 2015, Coach Jones was named the Head Coach for the Lady Viper Basketball program. Prior to Vandegrift, he spent 4 years at Belton High School: 1 year as the Freshmen Head Coach and 3 years as the JV Head Coach. Jonathan graduated from Panhandle High School, where he excelled in sports being named All-Region in basketball and All-State in tennis. He also participated in football, golf, cross country and track during his high school career. He attended Howard Payne University where he played tennis his freshmen year, and worked with the Division III National Championship winning Women’s Basketball Program.
Coach Jones loves to play golf, work out, and spend time with his beautiful wife, Bridget, and growing family; daughter, Rylin, and son, Braxton.
|PAUL PEHRSON||Head JV Girls Basketball Coach|
|Paul is entering his 27th year of teaching and coaching. In 1991, he graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN with a BA in Mathematics, while playing football and throwing shot put and javelin on the track team. He also started his coaching career his sophomore year in college working as a Freshman boys basketball coach at his old high school. In 1991, Paul came to Texas to student teach in a special program in the Rio Grande Valley. He taught Math for 21 years and Special Education for 5 years. He has coached basketball for 22 years (13 with boys, 9 with girls including 6 years as a Head Boys Coach), football for 23 years, track for 20 years, and volleyball for 3 years. He also spent 8 years as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at two different schools. Most recently, Paul worked at Burleson Centennial High School near Fort Worth.
This summer he and his wife, Julia, will celebrate their 20th Anniversary. They have 3 wonderful children, Adilyn (15), Kaya (13), and Loic (9). Their girls will be attending VHS and are looking forward to joining the Vandegrift Family.
|LYNNE COLLENBACK||Head 9th Grade Girls Basketball Coach|
|Lynne was born in San Antonio, but went to school at a small school in Paint Rock, TX. There, she played basketball and then went on to play both basketball and tennis at Schreiner University, in Kerrville, TX. Since then, Lynne has coached basketball, tennis and track.
She will teach English here at VHS.
Now, Lynne stays active by participating in sports, hiking and lifting weights.
